Pulse Charges in static battles...

A Question of Melee "ethics"???
Several times this year at Pennsic...specificly during the Bridge and Pass... I noticed fighters falling dead, and falling forward...no problem there.. however...after "dying" they would get up and push their way through our shield wall to leave the field..if they got hit again they would freak out ...

I use 1/4 inch Luan flooring....you buy it at Home Dept in 4 X 4 sheets...(its the sheets with the little green "X's" on it)cut it in half, then laminate it by gluing the two 1/4 pieces together in a shield press....add a slight curve to it and in 24 - 48 hrs "wallah!!!" a nice, fairly light shield ...

Vitus....I do not think we are arguing the viability of spear as a Knightly weapon in period....it seems though, as you like to point out so often..that the SCA in general doesnt always follow in the footsteps of their counterparts of old.. The tourney is the primary place for a person to gain a rep...

I use a 24" wide by 29" long center boss ... it is one of the most versitle tourney shield I have ever fought with... My fighting improved by leaps and bounds when I switched to it from a heater.... any way...what Ive done for the handle is taken a oak dowel, and used a dado and flattened one side o...

Adam...dont cut your self short...you requite yourself well as far as I am concerned... Now the question comes up..."should we only use the term Knight with personas that would have used it in Period?" If I am ever graced with the good fortune to be elevated to the Order I will never be called Knigh...

Damn Vitus.... Every time I turn around you impress me more and more... Your words are infomative and inspiring... Yet we all have our idea of what makes a Kinght... I for one believe that 70% of being a Knight takes place off the field... In the actions and conduct of the person... The other 30% is...

I will tell you my experience. I used a sandblater (actually glass beads but whose counting) on my helmet. It had rusted to hell after the Pennsic of Downpour... so I took it and took all the padding out and blasted it clean. It gave it a dull but very uniform finish. I then buffed it out with three...

NO....All weapons in the SCA must be from rattan of miniuim diameter...rattan cored siloflex being the only exception. I would be interested in trying a just under one inch piece to cover with siloflex...can you get this?? if so how much? [This message has been edited by sarnac (edited 11-11-2001).]...

Eastern Crown
Congrats to Sir Darius Orientus who won Easern Crown for his Lady Roxane..
He bested Sir Andreas Eisfalke in the finals.
Vivat to them both.
So now both the future King of the East and the future King of the Middle both have Roman Personas....this will be an interesting War...
