They will be shipping out the plates to me via UPS on Monday or Tuesday depending when they get the rest of the money. Shipping is indeed another issue. It is going to cost me $50 just to get all the plates here, which eats up almost all the cash I had you guys send for shipping (except one person w...

Now that Alan is done being humble... Get on his list. Regardless of the wait, this man does some of the best work in the known world. I purchased a helm from him, and even though it was 1 1/2 months over the delivery date it was worth every minute of waiting and fit like a glove. His attention to d...

Anyone know how to measure crossbow lbs??
I just finished making a combat archery crossbow for my wife and I want to find out how heavy the pull is.
It is an 11 inch power stroke with a 100 lb prod if any one knows the calculations please post them.

Got an email from the shop today and the plates are done. They also made 3490 instead of the 3200 I ordered so if they are going to make me pay for the extra I might have some extra to sell off after everyone gets theirs. They are sending me a total for the least expensive shipping (sorry guys cash ...

There are a great number of people out there who I consider friends who probably dont remember my real name. In the SCA I am Ld. Sarnac Kir, People know by that name and, like Gundo, I am proud of the reputation I have built under that name. There are many who I talk to who would not know that Sarna...

Which is the more "TRUE" knighting ceremony?
In the SCA I have seen Knights made on the battlefield, a "drive-by" as it was called..
And I have seen them made in Court after a vigil.
Which is closer to the truth?
Which is closer to the way it was actually done?

DO you have a dress dummy for sewing?? If you do, you could do it the way I made my wife's. I made the breast and back plates and connected them at the shoulders. Then soaked them in the tub until they were saturated (about 3 or 4 hours). I put a plastic bag over the dress dummy as not to ruin it, a...

For myself and my Knight, I promised to uphold his honor and represent him to the best of my ability, to continue to fight ...

A question for the Chivalry who frequent this board...
Someone asked earlier about what it means to be a Sqiure and what the relationship between A Squire and their Knight should be... I have a question for the Chiv.. After being squired, the relationship goes forward in stages, as we all know. From basic training, to advanced training, then to grooming...
