it is my understanding that maille alone is not considered HARD armour by SCA standards.. that said.. supplemental plates to cover the legal areas that must be covered by hard over soft is required to be worn under maille to be legal in every Kingdom I have ever fought in. so... you may sell your ma...

I use a trigger setup as well... when in my guard I have a loose grip...with the top two fingers and the thumb only gripping the sword...as previously posted...you move faster if you are relaxed... then when the shot is about to land you tighten the bottom two fingers and loosen the top two to provi...

you have to teach the basics out of armour...

then put them in armour to understand how moving and fighting changes once you ARE in armour...

I think 3-4 weeks worth of pell work mixed with in armour training before actualy let go to fight is the norm here

There are characteristics that do jump out at you that seem to be concentrated in specific Kingdoms. Although in Ealdormere we have had so many different influences that there arent too many styles that are specific to our Kingdom... what are the average shipping prices for rattan?

does it have to be cut to be shipped by certain carriers?

I know most staves I buy come in at around 9ft, but shipping something that long would prohibitive...I would think...

I have had alot of success stick welding stainless...I just had to use rods made for welding stainless.
They are more expensive then regular rods but they weld stainless nicely.

your best bet is to get 1 inch rattan and sand the "bumps" down... then lubricate the inside of your siloflex.... use whatever you think will work best.... The silk shirt did not stop the arrow... what the silk shirt was for was.... when an arrow was able to penetrate the armour and "gambeson" and actually penetrate the body the silk garment would get pulled into the wound. the physicians would rotate the arrow wrapping it in the silk lessening the dam...

If someone is hurt by a spear it is the MAN controlling the weapon that makes it dangerous....

which is NOT the case with the shafted arrow.

Its attitudes like YOURS that cause the most friction.

Valstarr - I would say Duke Logan and I are on the same page here. I am a supporter of Combat Archery, seige weapons, linked , result oriented scenarios, armour as worn against archery and anything else that can incorporate different and fun things on our battlefields... but I will NOT take the fiel...
