Once again this isnt the place for this...but I will be short. You cant have everything.... I think a shot needs to hit clean and solid to be counted.... bottom line. I think to ask for a single handed thrust is a bit much. A lighter standard for face thrusts is Society standard....but an arrow is n...

NO smartass....the physics are not different here... its a fiberglass prod that with the current draw makes her cross bow about 800 inch pounds...which is below Society max....we use Baldar blunts in golf tubes and the siloflex/stopper arrow. and she can pick off pretty much who ever she wants at up...

Steve... talk about irrational.... If there is a catastrophic failure of a shafted arrow...it can be potentially deadly... That is a fact. There is no defense for that. It cannot be denied. I have used golf tubes....and siloflex in both x-bow and regular bow and never had trouble with hitting my tar...

I asked both my local Wal-Mart and a local golf place about that when I heard the same thing....they said they, for the forseeable future, have no issues getting as many as I would need....as they are still carrying them for use in the actual golf bags.... but going to a poly pipe...such as siloflex...

Get rid of shafted arrows completely Society wide. Go to a poly pipe bolt standard and up the Max. poundages on bows Only. They perform better than Golf tubes (which I never had a problem killing with), and are much safer than shafts Shafted arrows, if they fail catastrophically, are potentially dea...

Sources for banded armour?

I remeber looking through Norman's Silk Road site and seeing a drawing of a Mongol in Banded Armour.
I have looked through my references and cant find anything remotely like it.

Does anyone have any sources on banded armour ....and hopefully specificly Steppes armour?

Tentmasters is the best around. Actually the scenes depicting the two handed Sword List Torunament was conducted very close to what I have read in period accounts...

10 counted blows, one person defending, one attacking...then switching.

yeah...Jehan...I have a bit of an issue over that one too... While I am not a strict "it must be documentable to be used" person...I do believe that we need to focus on the ordinary occourances in medieval life instead of the EXTRAORDINARY. Did Japanese visit Europe....??? possibly. Was it a common ...

yes.... very wrong...

The Physics of the armour of Europe was designed to protect the man inside against European weapons...

Much of the Japanese armour of our period was desinged to combar vastly different weapons with different physical mass, properties and use.

I held a tourney that was a bear pit... but it had 4 lists...each list was a specific weapons form. Then at the end of the day we took the top 3 out of each list, and the top 4 overall... and put them in a "sweet 16" single elimination tree to find out the winner for the day. It was a very neat tour...

Look into Silat....
I train in Penchak Silat Mande Muda.

I train in that, and several good local submission fighters have come out of my school....I most likely could be one of them if I didnt have the whole wife/kid/job to worry about.
