well...for one thing...wouldnt most archers of your place and time have been Horse archers? That does make a difference as a horse archer is FAR less vulnerable than a unit that is staticlaly placed or entrenched... oh...c'mon guys.... dont you know that a katana can slice right thru ANY armour.....even plate.... and the Japanese didnt even need to wear armour as the could deflect bullets and arrows with their almighty katanas...
