I gotta agree with Murdock... I am only a fringe wrestling fan...but the first time I heard HHH's theme song "Time to Play the Game" by Motorhead....it made the hair on the back of my neck stand up. Marshals already have designated tabards....

They are black with large yellow crossed swords on them and they are very easy to spot...

no need to reinvent the wheel.

In the midrealm...that is fine..

There is no edging requirement except that edge must not destroy the rattan...rolling the edge is acceptable for this.

A note form the BoD that effects the Historical Combat Serie

this was from the BoD's minutes: A. Society Marshal's Policy Interpretations - remanded from April 2003 meeting Two policy rulings which had been remanded from the Society Marshal's April 2003 report were approved by the Board: 1. The Frameas thrust-and-throw javelin is approved for SCA use. This ha...

once you pass the point...they are almost defenseless unless they run away. I am only one or two steps away from killing most spearmen.
The spear is a most (if not THE) Knightly weapon!

No... I will NOT mangle my helm in such a way.
I shouldnt have to...but shafted arrows are legal so I will not participate during those battles.

This is strictly a personal decision based upon a situation I deem to be unsafe.

I am not trying to influence any policy and only wish to make my intentions clear so as to explain that there are people out there that do feel like this.

well...according to the SEM the only legal shafted arrow for a heavy crossbow is the Fellwaker brand. If it isnt clear then I agree it should be updated. but this seems to cover it **1. Crossbows shooting exclusively golf-tube arrows may have a power of up to 1000 inch pounds, and are considered Hea...

modifying a marshaling helmet to protect during C/A

I have an old British WWII helmet that I use during marshaling....how could I modify it to protect my face during C/A battles?

I was thinking of attaching a lexan shield but that would suck and look crappy...any other thoughts?

Sir Mal - well....When I used to do combat archery, I used Baldar Blunts with golf tubes and siloflex very effectively.....its what my wife uses now and they work fine for our combat...so there is NO real reason to use shafts other than the insistance of a vocal minority of archers. Wasnt it Sir Air...

Not participating in Combat Archery Battles

In light of the recent rash of injury reports and helm penetrations of "legal" combat archery ammo, I have decided that I will no longer participate in any battle scenario that allows any C/A ammo other than golf tubes and tennis balls. I will not require my squires to participate as well, however t...

I beleive that ther is only one legal shafted ammo (Fellwalker brand ammo) for heavy poundage crossbows....other wise you must use tubes above a certain poundage.
