Damn, I am not trying to change anyones mind here. MY squires are their own people...they can think for themselves. It took me a LONG TIME to decide this....and I wanted to talk about it....thats all. I am not trying to start a movement....just trying to be safe. Malcom- I understand what you are tr...

I gotta agree with Murdock... I am only a fringe wrestling fan...but the first time I heard HHH's theme song "Time to Play the Game" by Motorhead....it made the hair on the back of my neck stand up. Also Ace of Spades is a good one. I Stand Alone by God smack Ride of the Valkires..... Carmina Burana...

Malcom (Heairn)... I beleive your opinion of our influence is far overstated.... If you think for one minute that my decision is going to influence anyone in the know....you really dont know how things work. If my example awakens a similar feeling in others who choose to join me on the sidelines.......

Raibert.... By "re-inventing the wheel" I only meant we have a standard uniform for marshals now ...that is very visable....Changing the tabards are not the changes I am talking about. I agree totally with your other assessments hence the reason I am looking for help in modfying my marshaling helm t...

these are great ideas....thanks guys... I am going to use an extended hocky cage painted black and some leather hanging down below it for throat protection... I am drilling three holes in the helmet for the cage to snap into place... one on each side and one in the front. This should solve my proble...

well...according to the SEM the only legal shafted arrow for a heavy crossbow is the Fellwaker brand. If it isnt clear then I agree it should be updated. but this seems to cover it **1. Crossbows shooting exclusively golf-tube arrows may have a power of up to 1000 inch pounds, and are considered Hea...

I have an old British WWII helmet that I use during marshaling....how could I modify it to protect my face during C/A battles?
I was thinking of attaching a lexan shield but that would suck and look crappy...any other thoughts?

Sir Mal - well....When I used to do combat archery, I used Baldar Blunts with golf tubes and siloflex very effectively.....its what my wife uses now and they work fine for our combat...so there is NO real reason to use shafts other than the insistance of a vocal minority of archers. Wasnt it Sir Air...

Not participating in Combat Archery Battles
In light of the recent rash of injury reports and helm penetrations of "legal" combat archery ammo, I have decided that I will no longer participate in any battle scenario that allows any C/A ammo other than golf tubes and tennis balls. I will not require my squires to participate as well, however t...

Hmm....I cant say what your experience has been....I have witnessed exactly the contrary. Especially in Crossbows...shafted arrows are permitted out of high poundage x-bows... and my experience has bee that the shafted arrows shoot better, straighter, faster and hit harder than any tennis ball or tu...

No...C/A shouldnt be banned... but its rules should be changed to reflect the advances in technology that has unbalanced it on our battle field. Shafted arrows SHOULD be banned. They are dangerous. Our game is NOT an inherently dangerous one and when people follow the rules, is safer than football o...

this isnt knee jerking.... The advent of the high poundage crossbow has effectively put people on the field with single shot sniper rifles... Shafted arrows are the ONLY weapon allowed to violate the minimum diameter rule and if they catastrophically fail have the ability to be lethal or permanently...
