Its been my experience that many people treat the first week of pick ups as a practice...as they are not sanctioned and marshaled fighting...so I am not sure they could....but I am not sure they couldnt.

Flonzy,

Thanks... I am putting an under layer of Muslin on before the canvas to "seal" the wood....so I am going to water down the glue a bit to facilitate the soaking process...

Then use barge cement to clue the canvas to the muslin covering.

wow.....you could really do just about any culture from cental europe and work your way all the way to China...depending on your time period. wow.... shoes are still MY biggest problem...never mind my daughters.... For indoor events we use plain white sandals, plain black slippers or those solid black pull on shoes...they are like sneakers with no laces.....for outdoor events we make her wear lace up boots....to bad if they dont look that...

If you are looking for other techniques that translate over to SCA two weapon fighting... Guru Dan Inosanto's book on Kali and Escrima has alot of drills and technique that carries over with a little tweaking.
