It came in today. HOLY MOLY! it is PERFECT ! Worth far more than the $180 I paid for it. I little narrow for a European sword, but incredibly nimble for the size. The grip is sized so you can use it comfortably with one hand, but also with two. This is a cutter, a real sharp sword. I am quite shocke...

I'll let others have the dibs.

If they stay unsold for a couple of days, then I'll talk to Ottawa again. If not, let them go to good hands :)

Cheers,

As he is in the military, substantial "blackout" periods are to be expected.

Give him time. He is no longer a full time armorer, so anything you can have made by him is a bonus.

Re: The Helmet Shot- From Inside

Describe as best you can what a good shot to your helmet is like to experience. Include as much detail as neccesary. It's jarring to be struck with a good blow to the head. Often there is a very short but loud "CRAAANG" sound and a slight but unintended movement of my head. It is nice to ...

On a basic level, pretty much the same things you'd look for in a western sword, other than the furniture, they really aren't that different from a "standard" broadsword. More specifically, jians were usually multi-part construction, commonly "san mai" which sanwiched a high car...

If I may suggest, the latter approach is perhaps the best. I.e. a semi-custom knife, where you have the materials to make a decent, plausible period knife, ask for details and perhaps an illumination/documentation for the shape, and then you finish a blank like that, so it fits the persona and budge...
