Can you make one of these? See, that looks way more 16th-17th century to me. Agreed! The Roemer glass comes in around the 1630's. Nowhere near appropriate for the 14th c. Ceramic is a great choice. I've started drinking out of glass since I've been doing some glass blowing, and I really like it. You see folks drinking out of glasses A LOT in 14th and 15th century illuminations. Can you make one of these? http://shop.jorvik-viking-centre.co.uk/acatalog/42roamerrich13...

It depends how much accuracy you want. Some paring knives have blades shaped similarly enough to a seax that you can pop off the plastic handle, cut down the tang, and pop it into a simple wooden handle for less than $5 and an hour of work, if you aren't concerned about having precisely correct bla...

Affordable eating/utility knives...

Gentles, We have seen shown some quite remarkable cutlery for medieval everyday type use, i.e. utility and eating. The problem is that many of these are made in the style that only great lords or kings would use, or made overseas (mainly in the UK) and therefore very expensive. Frank(ish)ly, it woul...

Maeryk, You usually make a lot more sense than this. There is the letter and the spirit of the law. Sir Corby makes sense in an additional point: inertia. True, sword foot forward is probably faster, as...
