Nice pads, I was about to buy a set BUT...

The sizing in the website sucks...

How do you figure out which ones you need? where do you measure? around the knee in the middle? what do you do if you are between sizes? buy bigger or smaller.....

Thanks!

Unless I am in full plate I would not wear anything else. Torvaldr's are awesome, though he is not doing the pretty decorations anymore. Light and tough. Aaron, have you been hit in the throat ? Serious question. I wear plate gorgets. I only wear plate gorgets. I've had my plate gorget creased. I find there to be no difficulty in recognizing a good blow. I can't imagine how a person could not recognize a "good" blow to the throat or neck t...

Pennsic 300 Battle

Greetings All, I read a posting, started a while ago, where some worthies here in the AA and in the SCA proper had discussed the possibility of organizing a battle at Pennsic, to commemorate the stand of the 300 and their allies against the Persians. At the time the movie " 300 " had just ...

What I do is peen the rivet on the outside and dress it with a rivet set, it makes a domed head that way, OR you could get an impact hammer and make a rivet set to fit in it and peen it with that, if the helm is wide enough to fit the hammer. I like the first option myself. Can you say that in Engl...

Greetings! Is there a special technique to rivet or hammer inside really tight spaces? How do you make your 2 inch thrusting tips for Rattan?

Ok, Leet me try this again What method do you use to make a safe and durable 2" thrusting tip? The question is asked because the "low profile" tips, as used on single handed swords are supported completely by the rattan tip so they are easy to cut, make and attach to the tip of a swor...

No, it is a two piece torso harness with faulds and tassets. Late 15th century armor developed this technique to increase mobility while allowing for protection.

Nice piece by the way. How much were they asking?

Next project: a Dori

Well, as my hoplite kit keeps coming together, I learned that a decent Dori or one handed Doric spear can be built to SCA safety standards. The pole needs to be 1 1/4 (not bad then as I understand historical dori were about 1" diameter). It should not be not too flexible and it can have thrusti...
