I know very little about this and I am curious. How do you select a sword? How do you make it safe for SCA use? What equipment do you need for fighting rapier? Training, I am sure I can figure out Do you get a sharp and a blunt sword or it is the same by the addition of a button? Thanks! Glaukos

I understand that the upcoming "Battle of the Nations" is so rigorous a challenge that only Spring steel can offer the combination of strength light weight needed to be successful.

If one were to look for pieces to build a harness for such enterprise, where should one start looking?

Can you apply the same concept, let's say to a demi gautlet? or your bazis? i.e. reinforcing them with metal? maybe a riveted brass piece on the back side of the hand of the demi? This is not only beautiful, but it has many possibilities...

It just occurred to me that if you make the actual vessel wider and a bit shorter, and add two handles instead of one....
And then make the leather black...
