Pennsic DVD's ?????

Greetings,

Has anyone received the "official" Pennsic DVDs that they sold at the tent? I was told they would be out by Halloween, but I have heard nothing yet....

Thanks!

Re: sheild press

My friend owns a high end woodshop and we have made numerous laminated shields. Typical construction is 4 layers of 1/8 high quality birch plywood glued together with Titebond III and left to cure on a curved form for 8-12 hours in a vacuum press. If this sounds like what you are looking for let me...

If you want a full scabbard, contact Sir Vitus von Atzinger/ Period.

For a simpler frog or weapon carrier, Torvaldr makes an excellent an inexpensive version I have use in combat myself and I can recommend it without reservations.

Hope this helps

WTB: Aspis/Hoplon blank....

Some time ago, Sean of Legion Quartermaster was offering spun aluminum blanks for Greek hoplons/aspis (you know the domed round shield with a rim) He is apparently not in business for the public anymore, but I was hoping someone may have one gathering dust in a corner. If you have one and would cons...

I have not been able to work this out yet for my next shield, but someone suggested taking a THICK wooden dowel that fits in your hand, slicing it lenghtwise, drilling it in two or three places and making a "sandwich" of your strap so that it lays between the two semi-cylindrical pieces. R...

As far as doing a 300 Battle with Thrust and Throw Javelins...that would make for an entertaining afternoon! . That was precisely my point. To used them as an initial melee weapon for Hoplite kits.
