Looking for Corinthian helmet (starting search)

I may be considering a Hoplite kit for next Pennsic, and of course the helmet comes to mind first. Who makes nice Corinthian helmets that truly reflect the style? (as opposed to the standard bowl top with two face plates and a nasal added later.) I saw a nice one in mild and brass from Lonely Forge,...

Saritor,

When you mean not assembled, you mean just the pieces of the armour, or the plates, cover, hardware, etc.
I guess that is why pics of the actual item help.
This sounds like a great kit, but I'd love more details.

Thanks!

Good to see you are recovering well, albeit slowly.

Take it easy, it will all be there when you are well enough to come back.

I recently purchased a Waldryk Salletia, which includes a permanently attached grille bevor. Even with this I find the diminished visibility an issue.

How did you guys handle the transition from open faced grille to the slit visor of the sallet?

Ok, I drove by Home Depot. I realized that D. Sebastian's version is slightly over-engineered for my armour. I guess I was successful in lightening up my kit.. It took me about 5 bucks of materials and some 10 minutes of work. I never spent less at Home Depot that I can remember. 2 foot x 1/2 inch r...

I am very impressed.

I guess we may be trying to use Western concepts to what appears to be a peculiarly chinese approach to "munition type" armour. If you study the different statues, you will notice that there are marked variations on the general design, but that the basic materials are the same, and in fact...

Gentles, Before I even started fighting, when I started collecting the pieces for my first harness, I bought one of these gambesons for pretty short money. A note on lower leg armour. There are several issues to be considered when dealing with lower leg armour. One is shape, the other movement. I thought the people doing Mongol personas might be interesting.

Lamellar can mean many things, and the documentation in the archaeological find is simply beyond belief.

While not exactly Mongol, there is plausibility in Mongols wearing Chinese armour.

Just a tought.

Torvaldr's C belt

It rocks.

Make sure you give him correct measurements, so you don't need to do surgery on it as I had to. But wonderful thing once properly fitted to you. I could probably go jogging with my legs on using that belt.
