Ok. SO you invented the assembly line in the Middle Ages. And I guess you can get your plate armor in any color, as long as it is metallic silvery? Padding So what is the brand of the padding you want me to get? Or the thickness? I'll go an buy a set of THOSE, but I wonder if the gain of having all-...

Benedek, You may try to discuss with him a different way to attach the grille, like a top hinge besides the back strap. The problem as I see it, is that there aren't many early or "archer's" sallets out there that are made for SCA combat. Most out there are 18 gauge (ouch!) and made for &q...

Hi, You seem to be describing the helmet I just got from Ironmonger! In my case it was a bit of a compromise period wise (some 50 years), but it seems to fit your demand even better. Check out my review of Ironmonger Armory from Yesterday, when I got the helmet. Thanks! Rowan I would like to know if...

Review: Ironmonger Armour
Gentles all, I just received my "Early Sallet" from Eric Paetow at Ironmonger Armoury, and I thought I'd give all a preliminary review. The Helmet was ordered in late October (early november?) with a deposit of about 1/6 of the total cost. It was scheduled to be ready in about 4 weeks, but...

Hi Tim, Steve The manufacturer was recommending the following system: set up is easiest if you put all the stakes in first, put the ropes over the stakes, then put in the center pole. You can use a measuring string to put the stakes in the right distance. Then you just clip on the walls. side poles ...

Hi William, How do you attach the tips to the side poles? What tips do you use? Also would you suggest a wood or painted metal center pole?
