I saw this piece in the Gallery today. Andrea del Castagno (painter) Italian, before 1419 - 1457 Notice the bolt heads quite visible. The shield is leather over wood. The fleeting idea of asking to see the strapping on the back crossed my mind... Hopefully we can feel better about the carriage bolt ...

Made from injection molded rubber these tips were designed in accordance to the Society Marshal rules for a Thrusting Tip. The tip measures 2 inches across the face and compresses at least 1/2 an inch.

And Windrose has the ones that are actually through the SEM's process and approved for use on fibreglass shafts.... Are those the same as the red ones? I don't believe so.
