Torvaldr to the courtesy phone please...

Hi Torvaldr

Any news on my kidney belt? Any idea when it will be ready and when you can ship it?
It was supposed to be your standard version, black, and fit a waist 34-38.

Thanks,

Alas, I have neither the shop space or more importantly the time to try. And for the money I'd spend on the materials, (and then a second set of materials after I ruined the first one) I rather have someone who knows what he is doing make it. Luckily Sir Kazimir may be coming to the rescue.... Alric...

Gentles,

The helm is not mine.

I posted the link to the auction because sometimes armour is stolen and appears for sale on Ebay, also to alert people of a nice piece of armour for sale.

Best regards.

Sir Kazimir is checking out whether we can work with these dimensions.

I asked him first :)

David, Why doesn't it. In fact it looks right one the money for me, that is why it caught my attention....

Their other shields are 1/2" plywood so one could assume the same here. Of course, what kind of plywood? And 50" to me seems rather long. I'm 5"10" and placing the bottom of the shield on my knee cop, the top would 4" over my head... This is not for regular tournament use, ...

First thing I hear about the burning myself. I hope in these few months since then the burns have healed. Have you ever tried honey? even in emergency and serious cases of burns, Honey has been proving to reduce scarring and pain and hasten healing. m I hope you are doing well. GLaukos

Thank you Gerhard, for pushing me also to find the actual examples. Also, for the uninitiated, a cool, cool point. Indeed, one of those is appropriately classified as a kopis, and would seem much more reasonable in a phalangite's hands than the other. My mistake for brushing it off as a "falcata." That said, I was under the impression that you did a late-5th century portrayal. I'm not a fan of the kop...

None now but not for any negative reason. (Gerhard, what I have learned from some research is that tough the Falcata and the Kopis are quite similar, they have subtle differences once you look at some of them. Apparently Kopis were a bit longer , whereas Falcatae were beefier and shorter. Kopis m I ...

We will be carrying them again this Pennsic. Because of my move to Germany, I have not restocked until we are totally settled in. Heed the above!!! As for shapes, I learned this thick from Duke Andreas Icefalcon. Make two "footballs" of foam or padding , i.e. shapes of footballs, each of which, properly folded should curve inside of your helmet. This is Euclidian geometry. See the shape of 1/4 of a sphere and imagine...

Glaukos- You mention that your kendo may be hampering your power/wrist etc. Think of the SCA strike almost the same as the right hand in a do cut just before you move though.
