I had one of the aventails... it lasted about a year. I upgraded to a welded after that.

Ulf and I both have steel knee cops. Kidney protection is lacrosse rib guards and maille. My elbows are actually a kids hockey shin/knee, that forms a very serviceable bazuband. It is galvanized... but the galvy wears off after a while. If I was in an area with greater humidity, I would go for stainless. I keep mine rust free with copious amounts of lanolin...

Decent quality, great customer service and fast delivery. How long the shirt is depends on how big you are... I'm 5' 8" ish, but I'm thin, so the shirt comes to my knees.

Fencing helm conversion

Anybody out there do conversions... by which i mean pitting perf plate masks on helms for fencing?
I have my old heavy weapons helm, and I'd like it converted to a fencing helm. I have taken the grill off, and figured on replacing it with perf plate.

Asbrand, the flat ring riveted I linked to is the same shirt I've been fighting in for several years. Being that (flat ring and riveted) makes it stronger than 14ga butted, at half the weight.
