Second, you are the biggest and the strongest. You have the physical strength to toss most of your students around like haybales. Use that. Physically shove people around. It is not your fault that you are the biggest and the strongest, you don't even exercise. f Just as a heads up... some of us li...

You can do a lot towards fighting in persona just by looking the part. The armour and garb are a major part, but look to you weapons and gear as well. I make an effort to only fight with appropriate weapons for my persona... sword, spear, axe and seax. I gave up great sword, I make every effort to m...

February 28th. Indoors, but it's in a field house. Room to maneuver, and surrounded by nets, so combat archery and thrown weapons are a go. No victory conditions... we basically just fight a bunch of scenarios till we're sick of it.

Step 1: Figure out your persona
Step 2: Make shield that is appropriate for said persona

Alternative:
Experiment with different shield designs, made from different materials. Pick the one you like. Everyone else will tell you what works best... and every answer will be different.

With the new rules in place... I'd pass that head as is. As long as the pole is not too stiff, it fits the rule as I read it... at least at a Society level.

The East Kingdom conventions are publicly available on the EK marshals website, here: http://marshal.eastkingdom.org/conventions.pdf

The links to the Society rules are broken, as they changed when the SCA site did... I'll try to get an email off to the web minister today.

You may not be able to get on the marshalls list if not a marshall, but the rules are available at the EK site... local marshalls should be abreast of things, and let their local fighters know when the rules are updated.
