100 Minutes War

So... who's going?
I've never been... any idea what i should expect? How are the sides divided up?
Looking forward to it... and hoping I'm closer to 100% healthy by then.

It's funny... I was up on the end you were taking pictures at in the mountain pass, but I'm not visible in any photos. My axe, however, I picked out regularly, poking up over groups of helmets.

You either need a real hockey glove (1/2" of padding or more) or a basket or gauntlet. Street hockey gloves are not sufficient alone, even behind a shield. This is per SCA regs... street hockey gloves count only for padding. I wear a gauntlet... I have used a hockey glove, with no real problems.

Mundane socks would actually be a bad idea...
Naalbound wool socks are great... they will insulate even when wet. Felted wool inserts=good idea...
I have heard, but not tried, lining with straw is also effective.

He was also my neighbor at Pennsic. We were all joking that he was working towards a trifecta... he killed two of the three fighters in our camp in different battles.
Seems to be a pretty cool guy.

Call HH Perkins, and ask them for the thickest piece of rattan they can lay their mitts on. The thickest they advertise is 2", but if you ask they will usually grab you the thickest they can find in the 2" pile. Plane that down to 1 1/4" on the sides, and presto... one beat stick.

Its funny how 'period' some people want to appear to be yet they forget that mercs are quite period as well. You really cant have it both ways can you.
