I bought a wall tent from them for last Pennsic. When I got it, there was a row of punctures along the center seam... looked like it had been incorrectly, and the threads removed. They offered to have me send it back and replace it... but as that would hev left me with no tent for Pennsic, I decided...

I wear a lacross rib pad under my maille I've een considering replacing it with the hex-pad stuff, but I'm not sure it will be as protective.

Perhaps the answer is to have the East and the Mid take on the world. It would go a long way to heal some wounds and I think that the numbers would be closer than the debacle of the last few years. Who made your maille Olof? It looks sweet. Most of the off the rack stuff does not have the slit for 'horseman's' maille. And neither did mine. I shortened the sleeve and put the slit in. I got mine through Kings Lance. I't basically the same shirt that Find It Armory sells... one of the local guys...

Hauberk weighs 23lbs, helmet w/maille probably 10 or so... With padding, limb armour and gauntlets, add another 10-ish pounds for a total of around 43lbs. At one point, with maille and lamellar, counting my shield I was over 70lbs of gear... and at that point I weighed in at 120. I'm now just over 1...

So Christophe brought a couple to practice, and we tried them out... I asked our heaviest hitter to light me up. Just crank up and smack me.

I was underwhelmed. It does not hit nearly as hard as a single sword, much less an unpadded polearm.

It works great... I packed the tubes very tight, so there's no "settling" of the cloth. It does take a while to dry, but I used pre-shrunk fabric and can toss it in the dryer.
I have heard of people using rolled up cotton towels as stuffing for the tubes...

I blouse which keeps it from binding under the arms, as well as being more blow absorption. Seriously, the mobility in maille... without peer. Wears like clothes.
