the "Flat Ring Riveted Chainmail Armor Half Sleeve Shirt " is essentially identical to the one I fight in... doesn't get much cheaper. A local guy ordered from them, with good success.

I've been fighting in Kings Lance maille for about 3 years now, with no repairs to it. It has held up well. I was pleased with the service, and the maille has served me well. I have had good dealings with Karl Von Sussen... I used to fight in his maille. My aventail is a welded maille aventail by Ma...

When I came here, I was wearing completely non-period gear... leather lorica, hockey gloves, polyester tunics... now I'm in maille, using appropriate weapons and shield. My clothing is linen or wool, and even my fighting tunic has hand made tablet woven trim. Thanks Armour Archive. Thank you to all ...

Here's me, as of tonight at practice. Only changed a few things... most notable is that I no longer wear the splinted greaves I used to... now just leg wraps. http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg228/olafharaldson/IM000536.jpg Your tip is bent. That is a new advanced design for thrusting around cor...

I occasionlly punch a shot out of the air without thinking... If I intentionally block it with my gauntlet, I take it as a good shot. One problem I see with blocking with the basket, is that some take this as license to target the basket... not a good shot, but to eff up the geometry of the shot, or...

Fight practice in the area of Brooksville, FL
So, like the topic says... anyone here in the area of Brooksville Florida? I have a friend down there who needs to get back in and start hitting a practice... preferably one with people who can turn on teach mode for someone who really hasn't been fighting in a couple years.

Battle Schedule for Pennsic
From another list: Greetings All, Prince Konrad and Prince Lutr have come to agreement to the schedule and battles for this upcoming Pennsic War. Prince Konrad has asked that I share the schedule with you all so you can begin to prepare. As you can see there is much combat to be had. Scenario detail...

The general SCA culture seems to be if you throw light you are a wuss and if you don't take train wreck shots you are a wuss. It is wild how an already violent sport/hobby seeks to get more violent. It goes off a lyric... Hit me harder so that I know I am alive. It's a combat sport. Not a game of t...

I am sort surprised that they havent already given your presence. I did talk to Sir Stephen at some length about maille and boots during winter war, I think he is leading a charge with Grandchamp. We're working on it. Some in lamellar, a couple in maille. Steve is working on House Grandchamp. Asgar...

I think a good hit SHOULD hurt. I mean, it's supposed to be killing you right? We are pretending to hurt each other for real. It should hurt. A lot. That's the stupidest thing Ive heard in a long time. Do you honestly think you can hurt a man in full plate ??? Armor works for a reason, to stop peop...

On the subject of a secondary... whatever it is, PRACTICE! Practice drawing it fast, clean, and effectively. If you can't get it out fast AND actually use it, it's as useless as tits on a boar hog. Practice shooting spear while *ahem* advancing to the rear. You are not retreating... you are keeping ...
