Pennsic 35, right? I was there... it was awesome. I would like to get a picture of me and Duke Darius. Every interaction I have had with this man on the field inspires me. I will never forget when he gave me one of my most memorable moments when I was standing alone against his forces in the woods, ...

I'd love to have a go at those pieces. I also want that book. So many books, so little money. Le sigh. I was about to say go check it out from the library, but it appears the only library in Austin that has it is the University library, and it's been lost. See about getting it through the public li...

• There's a large fighting household I know, who at least used to, paint on the sides of their helmets escutcheons (maybe 1" wide by 2" tall), suitably marked to denote which Pennsics they'd fought at; I can recall many of the having a half-dozen, and a few had well over a dozen (and th...

At Pennsic last year, the marshalls put my sticker under my aventail. They shouldn't have done that - that was blatantly against the rules given to the inspecting marshals; we were all told to put them on the left temple / cheek, so they'd be both visible during combat and in a consistent position....

I wear my seax in it's sheath on my belt when I fight. Always. It is a part of my kit, one that I really feel naked without. I take shots that hit the scabbard as if it were not there. I will continue to do so. I take these as whims, not commands. If it is given as a command, then I will rethink it.
