QUESTION POSTED BY YNVAR: Hi Olaf, What are your rondels made of? You did say that you are holding then in place with shoe goo? Thanks Yngvar MY ANSWER: The rondels are made of large washers, and the spacers are made of leather. They are tightly fittes around th handle, shoe goo'd, adn held tight wi...

I'm not really sure. I had thought about making them to sell, like I said, but I have no idea what to charge, or what they're worth. Other weapons I was more leary to sell, like maces and hammers, etc., because they are disposable items, but a dagger should last much longer... almost indefinitely, a...

I will have it at practice Chris...

BTW, Franco and I are working on armour stuff tonight at my place, so if you get bored call me.

What I am thinking of trying woth the mandrake pommell/hilt set is seeing if a tube can be welded between the hilt and pommell, so the rattan would slide right in. Not sure if it will work because it is Al.

BTW Adam, is that an Otters Den hilt & pommell on your sword? If so, do you have a url for them? I have searched, and cannot find them. I have a Mandrake pommell that I just can't make work... it keeps snapping off.

See, I'd love people to study my construction and make their own. I really just want to help make our toys as a whole look better, while still performing. I am considering making a few of these to sell. They are alot of fun to make. I am trying to figure out how to do some etching on the pommels and hilts.

See, I wasn't sure about wrapping the handles... the things I had read said that the handles were mostly decorated wood or bone. I am planning on making most of the other ones shorter... I made this one the length it is because that was around the upper limit for rondel daggers, and I wanted to get ...

Low profile tip... a little soft for my taste, but it has to be 1 1/4" of foam, so... The handle is carved, waiting to be stained till I get home from work today. I have several more of these on tap, slightly different designs. This one is about 19" long, and fairly hefty. Any specific design though...

New project- SCA rondel dagger

As I mentioned I would be on the SCA warhammer post, I am currently constructing a Rondel Dagger, or "Panzerstecher" for SCA combat. This is a picture of the piece I am basing it on.
I will post pics of the actual dagger as soon as possible

Wow, that was quick!! When you try it out in amour, I'd love a pic... My big questions are, how will it hit and how will it last. I need to know if I will have to add something to the hammer surface to make it hit properly, and if I will have to do more layers of tool dip. I recommend that you not d...

Good idea... I might draft you to assist me. My one big qualm about marketing these is, they will basically be disposable items. They will not last like rubber, and the best way I have found to attatch them is to glue them. On the plus side, they would be cheap... Next time you should do a step by s...

How wide are you guys using? I used the 10cm that Thora Sharptooth recommended, and mine are alot less than 10 ft... they may be less than 6, and they cover well, and stay up fine. Maybe it's because my legs are so skinny?

I will let people know as soon as I have more materials. I am leary of producing these... they are softer foam than most of the ones being sold, and are not going to be as durable probably. They will essentially be a disposable item.
Conversely, they won't cost as much...
