I'm blushing now... I'll be there, fighting instead of marshaling for the first time in years. My goal is to have fun. I've always hated the Birka tournament... so I decided I'd do it and make it fun. Seeya there dude. Hopefully we get to cross sticks. I'm very glad to hear this! Birka needs more gu...

Designed by Master Tearlach the Profane of the East, mass produced in India for Karl Von Sussen. I have the same one... but I took it to Crazy Einar at Pennsic and had him put an edge on it... the one it came with sucked. It's a nice blade. I won this seax on the AA auction. I can't remember who mad...

Unless I'm marshaling a list or some equivalent, I have my seax on my belt. It's completely natural for it to be there... but then, I wear it alot so I'm used to it. It serves many functions, from weapon to utility knife. If i'm in a situation that I can't have that on, I will at least have my foldi...

Re: Spear usage in melee
Bah! Either don't assume the skinny little spearman is easy to bowl over or ya better learn to land dude. This is in regards to SCA melee combat. Is it permissable to use the spear/polearm to trip you opponent? Or is this frowned upon? Trip? I'd say no. Drive it haft-first into his shield and lever ...

Re: WTB rattan saex
I'm not making them for sale, but a couple of words of advice from someone who's carried one for a long time... Wear it. All the time. Be used to having it on the belt. Practice with it. A lot. Practice drawing and striking. If it's not second nature to do so, it's useless as a backup weapon. With s...

I'm in the East... it's legal. Though this thread seems to be stirring up discussion as to whether it should be. It is not forbidden in The East. I have been using them for years on my Dane axes. Olaf, do you use the clacker on a two handed Dane axe? I've been constantly told it can only be on a one...

I wish I had a camera when I was at Hundred Minutes War a couple weeks ago... would have liked to get a picture of our Mattmaus helms on the field together. What a steal on this helm. I dunno bout all that... Adamo is a good dude, and a VERY good customer. I'm flattered by his repeat bussiness, and ...

No, I'm pretty sure Garick is spending his own money. If you're not willing to spend yours, fine. Looked into bidding, but then saw the bid by someone who doesn't want the helm bidding just to drive the price up. Not interested in being involved in that. Its a nice helm, small for me but nice. Worth...
