I got a chance to play with this stuff outside SCA auspices... we met and used it on our own time, not at an event or practice sacntioned by the SCA. I had to make that clear, as this material is not approved for experimentation in my Kingdom. My impressions... it doesn't hit hard. A lot of the shot...

1. Wear it. 2. Wear it more. 3. Don't use a ring belt to blouse. (if you NEED to blouse... you may not) 4. point the belt to the maille. (even if you don't blouse) This will help keep belt and maille from sliding. 5. Wear it more. Wearing your maille and getting used to moving in it is the single mo...

Talk to Master Eddie and Sir Mo... both of them do excellent work with spear. Eddie's style will really emphasize the fitness that Duke Avery mentioned earlier... he's an active, athletic spearman. Mo is much more finesse and sniping than Eddie. All the suggestions here have been good ones. Practice...

I have a vested interest in Crown Tournament in your Kingdom... but that's because Ealdormere is closer to our Shire than most of our own groups. Olaf So, I am curious how many people outside of Ealdormere have fought any of...
