Hmmm... my safeflex blade is rock solid, and arrived inside a week. Safeflex was the widest blade I could find, which fit what I was trying to do very well. Darkwood offers a few early-style hilts, but they're more expensive than Alchem. I was surprised to see how inexpensive the Alchem blades and h...

Re: [SCA] Marshal question survey
In the East, I actually can grasp the blade of an opponents greatsword in a bind... CC13. A mace, war hammer, polearm, or great sword blow to the hip kills, as does an ax blow to the inner thigh. Any other weapon blow to the hip disables the fighter, so that he may not rise up on his knees. A blow t...

I applaud you for calling yourself dead... but if you ever catch me pulling that on you, I hereby give you permission to spear check my ass into next week. Olaf but its not cheesy to come to a fight with a polearm and then sneak someone by changing it to a dagger fight? feels sneaky to me. if you wa...

I deleted the reply that I had typed, and replace it simply with this... I hope everybody who has posted on this thread who is a warranted marshal will marshal at least one battle at Pennsic next year. I hope all who wish to make the marshals better will apply to be a marshal in training and strive ...

You are very welcome for the seax... glad you liked it. (though I was a Saxon...) I can't remember the last time I came off a field grinning that much. My humble thanks to the warriors who gifted me with their loot and humbler apologies for my poor memory that does not recall their names. The Falcon...

You mean Pennsic XL right? I really hope that this event will be done again next year when I'm coming over. If there was ever a reason to ship the mail to Pennsic, this must be it. Warriors of History _and_ Hastings.*grumble* I too hope this becomes a tradition. I REALLY want to do this next year at...

There was a college kid at practice in his street clothes, bragging at the end of the night about what great shape he was in, and how many pushups he was doing every night. I told him to drop and start pushing earth... and smoked him while still in armour. Of course... I was doing the Hundred Pushup...

Differ away. No need to beg. But your opinion is different than that of my KEM, and quite frankly I'm a bit more worried what he thinks. I use a split rattan spear like WFM painted. I find the balance just fine. Olaf The boar spear you posted is split rattan. Both of the first pics are laminated. I ...
