I do not have a problem with you. I simply asked for your name. SCA name would be enough. I, for example, am Cedric Helmbreaker, squire to Sir Richard Fitzalan. I am from the shire of Mts Edge in the Kingdom of An Tir. Anybody that had been reading this board for a year and a half would probably kno...

#1 Suppose you're in a melee and an archer shoots an arrow at you and by some stroke of luck you catch the arrow. What should you do with it? -- I have a friend that knocks arrows out of the air with his hand all the time. He's uncanning about swattin the things down. I have seen marshall's tell him...

Yeah, I should cut him some slack I suppose... so Celtic Armourer you have a name and mailing address that I can sen...

Yeah.. still Texas is pretty big http://www.armourarchive.org/ubb/smile.gif I just find it odd that he doesnt even bother to give us even the most basic of introductions as to who he is, even after asked fairly directly. Not that I care, really... I never particularly liked the AW gauntlet design so...

How about a name? What is your name, man? Ya see, the last person to take orders on a bunch of these gauntlets took the money and ran. Would be nice to know that you are not that person with a new AA ID coming here to take our money and run again. Kinda hard to trust someone who hasnt given us any i...

I always take anything that hits me in the bargrill. We're supposed to be fighting in open face helms - the bars are "assumed" to not be there. I personally think that the minimum armor requirements for the SCA should be what we are "assumed" to be wearing. If we're supposed to be wearing mail (or b...

What I typically do if I thought a shot was particularly good is to up the power a bit and then start trying REAL hard to hit that exact same spot as many times as I possibly can. (my friends have gotten to the point that they can tell if I thought a shot was good or not because of that - Im apparen...

An Tir has rules for engagement during melee battles. Did the archer have eye contact before attacking you? Was he actively "engaged" with you? If not then the shot was illegal.. I would have taken it, but I wouldnt have been happy about it. I think Dimitry has the right answer... http://www.armoura...

Makes you wonder why they dont just make those things against the rules. My only concern about the Baronial armor requirement thing is something I have seen marshalls do where they make their own decisions about what should or should not be allowed. "If you want to fight on MY field, you have to put...

Corkscrewing IS specifically against the rules in An Tir. (Edit - Went and looked it up online, it isnt outright banned, but is one of the very first things listed in the "Traditions of An Tir". Its above not arm hunting or not straddling the guys head when hes on his knees. So technically, yes, it ...

It depends... in general I would prefer to buy what I want at events, that way I can handle the pieces and check them out in person. My first stop at Estrella war's merchant row is always the Mandrake tent for example. The problem with this is that most armorers cant carry a large amount of stock to...
