We have a small practice on Thursday nights in Yamhill, we'd love to have you (but let me before hand to be sure someone is there).
There is also a really good practice in Vancouver (Barony of Stromgard). It's a bit more of a drive, but worth it.

Currently it is a 26 Inch round centergrip (no straps currently just a handle) Also, a tip, folks in period almost always used an oval shaped handle. These days I use an ax or maul handle cut down to size. Rough-up the grip with sand paper so it isn't slippery. Mord. I used an axe handle on my late...

I particularly liked the glaive fight where you got the guy on his knees, then basically shoved him around by pushing his glaive with your glaive until finally wacking him on the side of the head. Awesome fighting videos, definitely worth the hassle I had to go through to see them. (got any of you f...

I really enjoyed Estrella this year, but I didnt get to fight very much. Tore something in my neck during the Arthurian Challenge on Thursday so spent the entire event taking pain meds and muscle relaxers. Tried to fight again on Saturday but after about 15 mins or so decided that a mass bridge batt...

I knew WHY you weld the bars to the outside, I have to deal with just as many marshall inspections as anyone else.... I was just offering an opinion on something that would improve the looks of your helmets. The bars are always one of the biggest things that stand out in SCA helmets and make them lo...

Would it be possable to cut the holes a little smaller? I plan on using braded sinew for the lacing. The lacing is 1/8th wide but would fit through a smaller hole than that. Heres the link to the sinew. m Thanks, Edward Try it if you want, but I would recommend against it. I made a suit of lamellar...

To be even more clear: I HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH ANY OF THIS. I was just passing along an email from my kingdom's fighters list, nothing more. I cannot provide any more help with this. Thank you, that is all. Cedric (not to be confused with any other Cedrics who may or may not have had any dealings ...

Copy/paste from kingdom fighter list: Here's the scoop from Terry -- the recent and unexpected move has put him several months behind since he basically had to build a new shop before he could get back to work on outstanding orders or new stock. Also, he is no longer taking custom orders and once he...

a little OT, but what's the best way of getting all the tape sticky off a stainless helm after it's been beaten a few too many times? after all, you can't even get a satin finish if it's covered in glue... I use nail polish remover and a cotton ball. Works ok, takes me maybe 15 minutes to do my helm.

I have seen three broken bones in the 14+ years I have been fighting heavy. A friend of mine broke his forearm, then his wrist then a year or two later the back of his hand (through his shield). Of course, this guy also broke ~3 ribs during a coughing fit and could hurt himself walking across his li...

I think Sir Giles kit is good looking. Never thought that far into a pre 14th century impression. One thing he needs to lose yet is the baldar cup hilt, then it would look alot better. What would you suggest as an alternative? Is there an SCA legal early period solution that I'm not aware of? (for ...

I didnt know you made anything besides Shield Bosses... Not really in the market to buy armor right now, but I get newbies asking me where to get this stuff all the time. --- For the record, I have made one purchase from Matt, and it was during one of his "down" times. His mother handled communicati...

I have been fighting in mail for some time now. At first I wore a padded gambeson under it with some heavy leather in pockets over my ribs.
