It has been my experience that no matter how much land is available, it is sometimes difficult to get enough it in one chunk for a large household to all camp together. Especially if most of them are slackers that can't get their paperwork in order and pre-reg. I'm sure there will be more then enoug...

I'm gonna be there for the whole thing. I dont think there's gonna be any room in our camp though, sorry. (large household, trying to pre-reg to get land but the rules are kinda difficult and I'm pretty sure we'll be swamped with our own people who didnt/couldnt bother to get their paperwork in on t...

The one time I went to Gulf Wars someone managed to talk me into running over one of the boarding ramps and jumping the (~5' tall?) wall into the castle (not sure if they even allow this anymore...). I was using a borrowed glaive at the time because I couldnt fit my sword or shield into my luggage.....

My center boss is two layers of 1/4" thick cross laminated oak boards. I have been fighting with it for almost two years now, one edge is starting to show some wear. I will probably get another season out of it... The plywood shield I made before that (out of 1/2" oak plywood) lasted maybe 4 months....

The first helmet is total junk. One of our new guys bought one of these without talking to me first and not only was it not big enough to go on his head but even if it would have fit the metal was so thin I doubt it would have lasted longer then maybe a year or so. Make shortcuts everywhere else (if...

My parents were firm believers in Hot Wheel Track Justice as well. My brother and I used to secretly throw the tracks away whenever we would get them for presents. Now parents would probably be charged with child abuse for using them, but I learned a lot of important lessons on the wrong end of a Ho...

Last year I was at a war and was talking to a relatively new fighter. He was telling me how much practice he had been getting and how much he really wanted to fight me the next day... During the fighting on the next day I saw him coming for me from across the field, so I stepped in front of the line...

I wear a fairly lightweight gambeson under mine. I have added some pockets over my kidney/lower ribs with some leather inside. My camail is fairly long, it hangs to the points of my shoulders, so my shoulders have two layers of mail and a gambeson protecting them. Havent had cause to regret it yet (...

I thought they were stupid for years. They didnt really work with what I had been using for hand protection (full leather gauntlets inside a half-basket hilt) and I chose to deal with lanyards instead. Early this year I switched to half-guantlet/baskethilt instead.. and shortly after that I put a tr...

Personally, I'm intimidated by anyone using a glaive who appears to know WTF they are doing with it. At An Tir's recent Sport of Kings event there was such a guy fighting in the torchlight tourney (Diego, squire to Sir Aveloc). From the comments of people ahead of me in line, I was not alone in not ...

For most intimidating I would have to say that our current king, Duke Uther, has to win the prize for me. I fought him at a practice once a long time ago and wasnt really intimidated (although he did school me pretty bad), but after watching him fight in Crown I have to say I would never want that m...
