It has been my experience that no matter how much land is available, it is sometimes difficult to get enough it in one chunk for a large household to all camp together. Especially if most of them are slackers that can't get their paperwork in order and pre-reg. I'm sure there will be more then enoug...

I'm gonna be there for the whole thing. I dont think there's gonna be any room in our camp though, sorry. (large household, trying to pre-reg to get land but the rules are kinda difficult and I'm pretty sure we'll be swamped with our own people who didnt/couldnt bother to get their paperwork in on t...

The one time I went to Gulf Wars someone managed to talk me into running over one of the boarding ramps and jumping the (~5' tall?) wall into the castle (not sure if they even allow this anymore...). I was using a borrowed glaive at the time because I couldnt fit my sword or shield into my luggage.....

I currently use both a camail and a lightly padded leather gorget.

Used to just fight in the camail, but decided taking chances with my neck wasnt the best idea in the world.

My center boss is two layers of 1/4" thick cross laminated oak boards. I have been fighting with it for almost two years now, one edge is starting to show some wear. I will probably get another season out of it... The plywood shield I made before that (out of 1/2" oak plywood) lasted maybe 4 months....

I can think of nothing worse then being legged in a war and unable to even crawl around to try to find some way of getting back into the fight.

Might as well just make legged = death. I think I would "accidentally" fall on my sword whenever legged if this rule were in place.

If it wasnt for SCA fighting I would get almost no exercise at all (other then walking a couple miles or more a night at work).

I would rather die fighting then sitting at my computer table.

The first helmet is total junk. Make shortcuts everywhere else (if...

Its a one piece (11g) plate, not a bar grill.

(but I dont doubt for a second that somewhere there is a marshall waiting to get all anal about it - anal marshalls seem to breed like flies :( )

Sweet helmet, altho personally I would make the bars black and the helmet shiny.

I wear a fairly lightweight gambeson under mine. I have added some pockets over my kidney/lower ribs with some leather inside. My camail is fairly long, it hangs to the points of my shoulders, so my shoulders have two layers of mail and a gambeson protecting them. Havent had cause to regret it yet (...
