I think he's saying that if he gets armed he concentrates on just killing his opponent, disregarding worrying about defending himself too much trying to "Win". This is the way I was originally taught too: if you get armed, go for the double kill. The idea is not to give up a clean win, but to take a...

Personally, the Sunday morning Thunder / Drafn battle has always been the defining moment of Estrella. It wont be on any schedule... but the fighting here is what makes me drive 1000+ miles to go this event. Drafn is always great fun to fight - we have had this "rivalry" going for many years now, an...

My angle grinder is the one piece of equipment I own that actually scares me. Almost took a pretty good chunk of my knee cap off once when I forgot that just because you take your hand off the On switch, does not mean the wheel has stopped turning. Things that remove or cut metal dont even notice hu...

Something you may consider doing is running a series of smaller priced auctions in order to get your rating up. Seeing a rating of (0) makes a lot of people leery of sending someone hundreds of dollars. Just off the top of my head, maybe you could try selling some of your hammers or armouring stakes...

Personally, I hate Reserve auctions. The starting bid should be your bare minimum price. I never bid on auctions with Reserves (unless the Reserve price is listed in the ad, but then again - why have a Reserve if you're just going to tell people what it is). I love the helmet. Unfortunately, the hel...

People are not supposed to move during a hold, right? Shouldnt those people laying on the ground who are not dead yet have to stay where they are, ON THE GROUND? Next time tell him that if he isnt dead then he needs to get back to where he was before the hold - laying on the ground at your feet. "Ha...

lamellar is tentatively sold pending payment. The bazubands are not edged, they are pretty much exactly like the ones pictured here: m (these are strapped however) length (edge of wrist to "point" of elbow) 11" (13 1/2" to very back edge). Measured around the outside, the wrist measures 9-9 1/2". Ho...

Misc Armor for sale
Ok, I need money to upgrade my pos computer so I've decided to sell off the extra armor bits that I have sitting around: 1. mild steel Bazubands, made by White Mountain Armoury. These were originally owned by Janos, I bought them and then discovered that his arms are probably 2-3" longer then mine R...

"To bring support to capturing and ransoming, Any fighter that dies in battle sits out for the next fight only and may rejoin their teams in the very next fight" This part here, coupled with your 30 minute breaks means anyone who dies has to sit around in armour for an hour - not counting however lo...

Probably worthless in an SCA context, since a shield would block it instantly, but a false-edge or wrappy shot to the back of the lead knee while buying space. Works really well on guys who haven't figured out how to break rhythm. Yeah, totally worthless in an SCA context because knees arent a lega...

I use fiberglass bows when I can get them. I like that idea. I have lots of old fiberglass bows. Do you cut it up and use the handle? Depends on the shield... I used to fight with a small aluminum centergrip kite, I have found that for aluminum shields it is best to run the bow the entire length of...
