Rawhide DOES stiffen the sword. Rawhide swords hit significantly harder then normal. I dont have a problem with them, as long as the user is aware of these things. They do enable you to use lighter weight rattan and still get good force and much longer sword life. Cedric (Also from An Tir - I've bee...

Edward de la Pole: Having had "sword bits" imbed themselves into the ground near my prone body at a Renn Faire, I can tell you the "coolness" is highly overrated Pointed metal twirling through the air... looks cool as long as it is going away from you Oh, I totally agree.. but what a story you can ...

I agree, the leather edging really makes it look finished. I wish I had taken the time to do that with my set. One word of caution about the shoulders, if your are too long, using a band of plates over the shoulders can be fairly restrictive. Curving the plates so they dont get driven straight into ...

Cut the sleeves down a bit yesterday and fought in it for first time last night. Awesome stuff.. the weight isnt bad at all, which is something I had been concerned about. My 'friends' were even intentionally targetting my body to 'get me used to taking shots' in it. Very satisfied, this stuff wears...

Review: Forth Armoury
Well, after months of saving, followed by more months of waiting my patience has finally paid off. Today when I woke up there was a box sitting in my living room that contained my new alternating-row haubergeon and aventail from Forth Armoury. I totally love it. The shirt fits me incredibly well and...

Panther rocks. Quality, delivery times, price etc.. I recommend them to all my friends, and they all have been happy so far. Only real complaint I could think of was that they sent me a copy of setup instructions for a viking a-frame with my Marquee tent. No biggie cause I spent enough time in the A...

Umm.. I have encountered the Heraldry police. They wandered into our camp one day while judging for a Period encampment contest (that I dont think we ever entered). Asked all kinds of annoying questions about our (Rolling Thunder) device, if it was registered, did we know we should register it etc.....
