nice! The pics aren't terribly clear, but it looks like you have very little gapping in the lames. On the next one, you might try for more symmetry in the two parts of the rebrace.

big archeological find in Croatia

the majority of the cache (in a river that apparently has not deviated significantly in it's course over the last ~3,000 yrs) is bronze age material, but also includes at least one roman "parade sword" pictured in the newest issue of Discover, where I saw the find announced just today. m Items recov...

Frozeman, I taught myself to knit maille with 12 gauge galvy in 3/8" Inner Diameter (ID) rings. After two weeks, I couldn't hold anything in my hands without pain. Carpel tunnel syndrome sucks. I changed my material specs and ring size gradually. I like 18 ga galvy 3/16 ID these days. If I could get...

Mr. William Hurt, that is a fantastic line drawing. I know that Aaron Toman has at his disposal an immense ability to clearly sketch armour from his experience as an artist. Few others do, as the responses here can indicate. It would be an immesurable service to the armouring world if you would cont...

another interesting thing about this manuscript is that it depicts the use of a curved "pringle" shield, which is seen most commonly used in jousting, and in some artwork of battles (notably Froissart's illustrations). Many have dismissed it's use as artistic license, but I believe this establishes ...

1500s men's dress??

m from this woodcut, I see a mature man in a simple shirt with a nice collar and a long skirt, tied at the waist; I see no partition between the legs. Reminds me of a japanese hakama used by aikidoka. Is this a dress of sorts? It doesn't look like it is a robe to me, else it should have an opening a...

Museums reps does a repro of an even wackier (sorry) chopper from th e mac bible, one with a flared top. Note that the chopper you show has no visible guard. Kinda like a glaive minus long stick. The Mac bible, as best I know, is also the only source that shows a european studded medieval war club, ...
