check out Schola Solis too, with Ian Johnson. Also Brian Price is out there somewhere. Both do Western Martial arts, both love poleaxe and grappling. It's all historical.

curiously, this reminds me of a history class in which we found strongly implied social and legal problems by continually restated laws to bar particular activities, prohibit fighting on Sundays, during Lent, etc. But when the laws need to be reissued without reference to the first issue, it says a ...

Bob, thanks for your input/ using that voice of reason on me. Curses! http://www.armourarchive.org/ubb/tongue.gif Of course, all of my speculations are tenuous. I do wonder though, if the "masters" Fiore trained under had done "business as usual" during the Black Death, or, if the books on fighting ...

WMA and the Black Death

something occurred to me this week past. I would really appreciate everyone's input on this. Fiore dei Liberi, which is the main WMA source I study, says in his prologue that he has been teaching the art of swordsmanship for 50 years. By this, we estimate him to be 65-70 years old at this time (unle...

you could watch Highlander to see what he does. Wonderful historical designs. I would suggest being careful to ensure that your piece is not laying against the engine and picking up heat thereby; waiting for your weapon to aircool a half hour after you arrive might be annoying. I see something like ...

a coat of plates with hidden plastic or aluminum would give light weight, plenty of protection for boffers, and be not too specific to their size, so that you can use it for a while as they grow.
