My sins belong to me and to a lesser extent those whom I have trespassed against. I will confess nothing here because I strive to never commit those sins again. I however caution my friends. These sessions of self flagellation often lead to sinful pride in ones own piety. While it is good to share o...

Re: Boots

Hi Lucien, I actually have several style boots in the mail for me to take a look at. I always make a purchase in my size and wear them for a few days to work out the kinks. I will see how they wear and then decide to stock or not to stock. We are moving toward actually stocking several different de...

Last year at Gulf Wars during the Ravine Battle I lost my composure and shamed myself and, as a result, my knight and his household. It still, to this day, makes me very uncomfortable to relay this story as it goes against everything I believe in regarding our game and also goes against my very natu...

Yep, I had the same thing happen, didn't insure and it never disappeared. I had to eat the loss. I never pass up on insuring an item now.
That being said, I'd think if the armourer was a giving fella he might cut you a decent dealt on a new helm being that you've already purchased two from him.

Hell yes it is and I agree with Jr, the maille makes the kit. What makes it look even better is that the maille is a bit tattered; THAT'S what does it for me.

Jehan, when you get the chance I'd like to pick your brain as to what ways you and Jeff incorporated your late 14th century kit into becoming a 15th century kit.
As someone who is attempting both personas this would help out tremendously.

Maille standards

Who's made them? I was thinking of fashioning one out of maille and hardened leather for SCA combat. It's more of an aesthetic thing as I wear a long aventail that deflects/deters most throat shots, so the standard would only be seen sans helmet. Regardless, was just curious who has made their own o...

Cased greaves

Explain cased greaves to me. I understand that they are hinged. I understand that they are made to work with the flow of the calf but does its deisgn specifically keep them from sliding down and resting all of its weight on the top of the ankle/foot? I don't have huge calves so this is a concern for...
