This was not meant to be a political discussion, move it to another board. Just wanted to let people know they cannot currently buy from Wildarmoury. Agreed. Maxim and his crew at Wild craft some excellent armour at excellent prices and they now lack a site. Why not focus on that and take your pers...

I'll try to get more specific information as to the exact measurements later tonight. What is the purpose of this? Is is functional, or just decorative? In period or out? In period it was used to deflect thrusts away from a joint or opening. In an SCA sense, I'm guessing it'll be more of a decorativ...

Amazing, thank you Bleddyn!
Interesting note, in the below picture many of the klappvisors and hounskull visors have breath holes on both sides, as opposed to just the right side.

WTB - stoprib
This is probably an odd little purchase, but:
I'm l looking to purchase a stainless stoprib to mount on my breastplate.
I'm thinking dimensions are roughly 5" x .5" per side.

Very cool, thanks Bleddyn. I also like how the same fellow has the aketon with the slit for his scabbard.
Also, on his helm, it's hard to make out at that resolution but on the side is that the hinge for a detachable visor?

Murdock, I'm a surgical assistant to a sports medicine orthopedic surgeon. PM me your details and I'll have my doc read over it and I'll shoot you back his response. If the x-rays are coming back negative (which 95% of the time they will with elbows, barring a fracture) then an MRI is obviously your...

Maelduin mac D, do happen to have plans for your other scraps? If not, are they mild or stainless, flat or round wire, wedge or round riveted? I'm working on a project with loose flat ring, round rivet mail from Icefalcon, and scraps would make it go faster, if your's match up and they are for sale...

I love the way the padded aventail looks on this clang helm http://clang.adkinssoftware.com/hist%20helm/Mvc-151f.jpg Chris, that is actually a camail liner/hood, coming out from under the bottom of the hat, and the actual camail would go on top of that, hung from the camail strap that's in place up...

WTB/WTT - piece of riveted maille, small
Looking to make a maille standard and was hoping one of you folks have a nice 5" x 14" -ish length laying around? I'd prefer stainless but mild is fine too.

That's excellent news as it was truly a cringe-worthy injury to witness.

I know of two personally that were removed via ambulance. One was Animal Weretiger, previously of the Archive, with a concussion and brain-bleed The other was a samurai persona, Ryu, that was a special participant in the St Michael's pas, who blew out his knee. I thought I was going to be a guest at...

Center grip heaters?
Did they exist in period? Specifically, 14th century?
Do you use one?
Do you no longer use one?
What pros/cons?
Inquiring minds and all that.

WTS - Aluminum lamellar
I found a bag of lamellar in my storage space when I was cleaning it out this weekend.
It has approximately 110 aluminum plates from Eldesar Armoury and about 10 (stainless) from White Mountain Armoury.
