How much did you spend on your kit?

I saw this posted years ago (2004 maybe?) and thought I'd bring it back up, as we have had so many more armourers with even nicer and more elaborate work having come upon the scene in the last five years. A) So, how much have you spent on your current rig? B) How about altogether since you started w...

WTB small pieces of riveted mail

I just need two smaller pieces of riveted maille to hang from the bottom of my greaves to cover up the mundanity of my boots, maybe say 5" x 4" (unless anyone with experience doing this has covered the top of a size 10 boot?) roughly?

I took off the lamellar because it's 18ga and heavy. About 25-30lbs heavy with the shoulders and tassets. If I can get a line on an inexpensive piece of titanium I will have my buddy cut me some lamellar out of that! Fynvar Try m I use it and it weighed about 4 pounds less than my stainless lamellar.

Kettle helms with bevors - SCA

After looking at all the Ortenbuyrg event pics I was wondering has anyone attempted to use a bevor with a kettle helm in an SCA-combat context? WMA's kettles seem to have a fair amount of room with the bargrill but I'm thinking the bevor would bind when turning the head. Granted, I have NO knowledge...

Ortenburg 2009 - woooow

I now know where I want to go with my kit. I want THIS level of detail. What are we talking, the 1450s-70s? Are the kits all within the same t...

FS - WMA Kettle Helm

Here we go, a mild steel kettle helm made by Adam/Magnus of White Mountain Armoury which comes with a removable bar grill. Brand new, never been used, I even added a leather drape to hide the bargrill. My phone pics don't realy do it justice but, hey, it's WMA. It'll fit a 22"-24" head. As...
