WTB - poleyns (knees/elbow) w/ rondels and besegews
Yep, it is as it says; I'm looking to buy a pair of poleyns (knees and elbow) with rondels and besegews for SCA heavy combat.
I'd prefer stainless (dull), as Florida's humidity is terrible to mild steel.
Thanks!

Wine in the Middle Ages
I've heard that wine in the Middle Ages throughout central Europe was mixed with water. Okay, understandable from a health standpoint. But do we know what parts the mixture was? Do we know what type of wine was prominant in that timeframe? I realize this is a broad-based question but my weak search-...

WTB - Sallet with bevor - SCA heavy
Anyone got a sallet with bevor they're looking to part with? Preferably mild and should fit a 23 1/4 head? Either that or anyone want to make one? Trying not to break the bank -- $400 would be nice.
Thanks.
Thanks.

I love them.
The plates, I mean, not Milesent's fighters. No offense.

The more I read these accounts the more I'm amazed at how much you encountered and accomplished! I must join in on this at Gulf Wars, if possible. How does one get involved? Are you picked mainly due to kit aesthetics? Do you have to be of certain rank? Do I have to buy everyone beer? Really, tell m...

Ran up fullspeed, TACKLED her, BLINDSIDING her, got up and ran off. This sort of thing just burns my ass. I'm of average height but weigh in at 140 dripping wet and I can almost guarantee if I'd been hit the same way, I'd of gone down just like her, even with the couple of years fighting I have und...

(SCA heavy) Fighting with a cape?
Now, I'm not talking about it ala rapier and using it off-hand, mind you, but wearing one while you fight heavy. Does it impede amnything? Make it harder to call blows? If you wear one, why so? Aesthetics? Clue me in, as I've been thinking about adding one to my kit.

WTB/WTT - SCA foil/rapier/epee & equipment
Looking for something to start doing light weapon fighting with. It doesn't have to be pretty or ornate, just functional, as finances are somewhat limited. Thanks! Edit to add - I'd be interested in equipment too. Show me whatcha have. Also I might be willing to trade a stainless WMA lamellar vest t...

I think the Tampa practice is only an hour or so from there. Maybe less. Sir Rolan's a pretty good teacher, and he'll have some guys that aren't such hot sticks that he can fight with and not feel outclassed. Once in a while, Duke Gunnar or another knight will show up. That being said, I highly rec...

Leather (possiby shovel-style) leg greaves?
I'm looking to make leather leg graves, possibly shovel-style type but I'm not sure yet.
I was thinking 10-12oz veg tan. I'm thinking that's still relatively tool-able?
Anyone have experience with making them?
Any patterns recommended?

Gauntlet info/opinions, please?
I decided at Gulf Wars, that during my very first skirmish of the War, the first two minutes into the Ravine Battle, to get my thumb smashed while shooting spear -- the fighters sword came right down on my thumb. There was no way in hell after driving 10 hours that I wasn't going to fight so I taped...

Looking for a specific Atlantian ...
Never got the gentles name, ran into him as we were lining up for the first Field Battle. Bigger guy. Wears a Zweihammer Valsgarde helm with stainless and brasswork, of which we were discussing inparticular. He wore lamellar with alternating steel and brass. "REGNUM ATLANTIA" was on his tu...
