Adam - WMA - need lamellar
Just tried to access White Mountain Armoury and the website seems to be offline.
I'm in the need of about 90 plates ASAP.
Anyone have direct contact to Adam or, failing that, have 90 they want to sell? Used are fine.
Thanks!

Seems like Thompson water seal would definitely darken the color of the canvas too. Not necessarily a bad thing. I was thinking of using spar varnish on the frame itself. Anyone ever used it for such a purpose? The price is obviously higher then regular varnish (although not prohibitively so) and I ...

Yes, use cheap acrylic house paint. You can even thin it a little for the purpose. Note that if you do a lot of "solid coverage" (as opposed to lines, stripes, fretwork) the area will get stiff and not drape well. I'm going to pick up some acrylic tomorrow, Tim, thanks. Would one simply lay down ta...

Thanks folks, I'm pretty well sold on the heavy dropcloth idea. Lowes has a 10oz (I believe) 12'x15' for $35, so two should cut it as the dimensions of the finished floor are 8' x 10', center height of 7'. So, can the canvas be painted to add some, er, pizazz to it? I realize it IS a dropcloth to CA...

Tent Fabric?
So, I just purchased the lumber and such to begin work on the frame of my a-frame tent. I was wondering if the canvas needed can be purchased at Jo-anns fabrics or similar stores. I know of the Sunforger and such but I was wondering if there is a cheaper alternative. Are trigger and duck cloth optio...

WTB - Sallet
Looking to purchase a sallet for a 23 1/2 melon. Mild, stainless, new, used -- doesn't particularly matter.
Let me know.

Shining stainless?
Cet just sent me a couple pair of spaulders and some splints for splinted arms. As is expected from Rough From the Hammer, they are rough -- meaning there is but a dulll luster -- this is not a complaint, mind you, Dave delivers product in mere days, god 'luv him! My question is, how do I shine it u...

Fabric used for surcoats in SCA combat
I despise cotton, think it looks terrible and barely passes the 10-foot rule. That being said, what can I use to make surcoat that can stand up to the rigors of SCA heavy combat? I'd like it to still have a decent drape and not look like a burlap sack ...
Thanks in advance.

Splinted Vambrace Construction?
I need some new vambraces so I'm planning on making a pair of splinted vambraces. I'm curious what gauge, length and width most of you use for the actual splints. I'd like to do stainless, definitely, and was planning on putting a slightly smaller (in size and gauge) brass splint on top of the stain...

Rough from the Hammer/Truehearth MIA?
Is 'Rough from the Hammer' still around? I know it changed owners but I haven't heard much mentioned since that happened.
Also, what about Truehearth Armouries? I checked Master Carlo's site a week or so back and nothing,\; file not found. Anyone have info on these two?

I have a pair of Ice Falcon Ducal grade spaulders coming from a trade with Alphonse ( HERE is the thread with a bit more info) I haven't seen them yet, but I understand that Duke Alphonse is a big guy and I would assume that the spaulders would be as well. Let me know if you might be interested. Ju...
