Correct on all counts. A common oversight in re-creation circles is the plainness of hoods in higher class portrayals. Too few are embroidered or otherwise decorated (bezants are fun too). I wonder if the reason you don't see the hard charges you get in the SCA is given the weapons being used, people are worried an accidental thrust? I finally got a chance this weekend to kick around in my cased greaves from Hammer breaker.
