Fighting with a knee and/or ankle braces

I was curious who fights in knee and/or ankle braces? I mean this in more of a preventative nature than a need-to nature, although all input is greatly appreciated. For example, I know Sir Uric (Blackoak) wears knees braces, although I don't recall if it's from necessity or precaution. Who else? I w...

Hammerbreaker did my cased greaves and I've been squirreling away cash here and there in hopes of him doing my legs too. Top knotch.

Having said that, if Matt had been taking orders back I very well may have gone with him.

I third this notion; Vitus makes me almost want to start another 14th century kit with his knees and elbows alone.

Re: Question about Aventails

It actually seems to have steadied my helm more comfortably on my head. I'm assuming it's due to the distribution of the initial helm weight and the excess aventail weight.

I've purchased twice from Kult of Athena. One piece arrived exactly on time while the other piece actually arrived a day early.
I know this doesn't help you with your current purchase but it does point you in the right direction concerning future purchases. ;)

Wasn't Steel Mastery getting really bad reviews a while back? Delivery times or lack of product delivery, something along those lines?

You nailed it, James -- that's the exact height/look I was talking about. Guess "mid-calf" is a bad description.
Only person I initially found making something similar was Armlann but they're not taking commissions right now.

14th century boots (NOT hunting/riding boots)

Lately I've delved deeply into the Laurin Tournament group and the Wolna Kompania's websites as a source of inspiration. One thing I am noticing is a prominence of mid-calf tall boots. Turnshoes are shown but they are significantly less frequent than expected. Is this historically accurate for mid t...

Who made the helm? What gauge MS is it? The helm was made by Sir Thomas Edmund of Ruislip owner of All Saints Armoury in the Western Kingdom and was crafted circa 95-97ish. I believe he is also a Laural for armor and he is mundanely known as Tom Huguenin. Now, as for what gauge? No idea.
