Fighting with a knee and/or ankle braces
I was curious who fights in knee and/or ankle braces? I mean this in more of a preventative nature than a need-to nature, although all input is greatly appreciated. For example, I know Sir Uric (Blackoak) wears knees braces, although I don't recall if it's from necessity or precaution. Who else? I w...

Re: ISO 14th Century Italian Legs
Hammerbreaker did my cased greaves and I've been squirreling away cash here and there in hopes of him doing my legs too. Top knotch.
Having said that, if Matt had been taking orders back I very well may have gone with him.

I third this notion; Vitus makes me almost want to start another 14th century kit with his knees and elbows alone.
Hm, after rereading that the sentence sounds odd.

Re: Question about Aventails
It actually seems to have steadied my helm more comfortably on my head. I'm assuming it's due to the distribution of the initial helm weight and the excess aventail weight.

Seriously, you need to come visit us in Chicago... I'm moving to St Louis in August, this puts me five hours away. I'd drive that far to do this Hey! I've purchased twice from Kult of Athena. One piece arrived exactly on time while the other piece actually arrived a day early.
I know this doesn't help you with your current purchase but it does point you in the right direction concerning future purchases.

Just a side note: The cuisses and gambeson I purchased from them stank to high heaven. I mean BAD. So bad I ended up throwing them in the trash without having been worn... Yep. My buddy got them and they totally stank. As in, "Left them outside for a week, Febreezed the hell outta them but sti...

Last time I talked to Cet about the finger kits I believe he said he was designing a 2.0 version, maybe that's why they're no longer on site.

14th century boots (NOT hunting/riding boots)
Lately I've delved deeply into the Laurin Tournament group and the Wolna Kompania's websites as a source of inspiration. One thing I am noticing is a prominence of mid-calf tall boots. Turnshoes are shown but they are significantly less frequent than expected. Is this historically accurate for mid t...

I had his Praetorian helm with the locking cheekplates a few years ago. One of the most comfortable-fitting helms I'd ever owned. I just padded the brow and the cheek plates. Had no need for a chinstrap, as the cheek plates become the chin strap in the sense that it won't allow your head to move wit...

Stainless/mild combo help
I have a stainless globose breastplate.
I bought a mild stoprib from Pitbull.
I plan to mount said stoprib on said breastplate.
What way can I treat the stoprib to retard rusting?
