This year at the COTT I was running late and completely forgot my ransom, which included a special edition of Machiavelli's The Prince and a linen coif. What I did have on hand, however, was my my personal paternoster that I made out of jade beads. This is what I offered [and which was graciously ac...

Etching Brass?
I want to bling up my helm and spaulders a bit, so I was thinking of adding some etched brass bands. I've done a search but it's quite fragmented and I'm seeing a multitude of different ways of doing the etching; salt water, muriatic acid, ferric chloride, some type of electrical way. Un-sew it from the leather, and when you sew it back, make sure more of the circumpherence is sewn to the leather, and less are left in the front. Maille aventail help
I purchased a stainless riveted maille avential from His Grace Icefalcon and while I love the sturdy construction (and great price) of the item, I dislike the way it "hangs" down in front of the helm as opposed to tapering down around the neck area. I've been told that this is because of t...

Sealing leather?
I have some leather items that I've painted with acrylics. What should I use for a clear, non-matte sealant?

Hell yes, you folks were as fun to fight beside as you were against, good stuff.
I was lucky enough to run into Animal the last day of Pennsic and he was a highlight of my War; one of the most gracious individuals I've had the pleasure of meeting.

Ugh, reading that tugs at my heart. Knowing that Sarnac, Bedlam AND Bascot are all gone is a hard pill to swallow. Typical barbarians- not bad as shock troops, but get 'em into a stand up fight... discipline will always tell. Actually, the tuchux forces that I have experienced fighting next to at Pe...

Agreed. I met him last year at Gulf Wars and got to chat him up later that year at Pennsic. Great guy and a pretty spiffy dresser to boot.
