Greetings Sir Haroun, If they have not yet been spoken for, I would like those legs! Those measurements are near-perfect for me! My best, Dietrich OK, they are yours. Do you want them now, or wait until I get your bazubands done? Haroun Good question! Now, if at all possible, in fact I'd pay a bit ...

Those are great goals, Lucas, and I think you can do it. Actually I figured you were around that weight already. And I hope to see you in the semi's at Ymir...I made it there last time I fought Ymir and I just need to fight MY game and sink my shots, to do it again. Anyway, I'm going to post a follo...

From the spearfighter's point of view, I admit I do find myself treated very well by my allies in melee. I usually get a shieldman assigned to me whose entire job is just to block for me or intercept anyone who rushes me. A couple times, I've had two bodyguards, which was really cool because I could...

Just 5? That's tough to narrow down! Here is my take on Atlantia, in no particular order: King Bryan of Sacred Stone --Odd, incredibly-efficient and explosive counterpunch-based fighting style that has been very effective for him Prince Michael of Bedford --Pure efficiency and refined destructive po...

Hi Doorman, Well, you've already gotten excellent and correct answers to your question. I didn't see the match in question, but if you should run into a situation like this again, where you think you are right but are concerned about being rude, feel free to come and talk to me or someone else about...

I've seen it both ways now. When I lived in Meridies, there was a single authorization that allowed you to fight with any chivalric weapons (no idea about CA) Since there is such a HUGE difference in being able to fight and compete safely and effectively with sword and shield, as opposed to, say, fi...

Fool's War or Castle Wars? Same site. Just curious as I didn't think they were out for trial at Fool's War. And if it was Castle Wars then the guy was probably me. I stabbed a lot of guys there with no complaints. Sir Malcolm, You might be right--with it being the same site, they kinda blur togethe...

Re: Foam is Bad
I dare you to try and thrust each other without foam on your sword and see what you think. It can be done safely and learned by almost anyone. Greetings Sir Falcone, Count me in. I have felt thrusting tips on single-handed weapons are unnecessary for a while, now. If you ever have a backyard experi...

I got my Ebonwoulfe cup hilt just a few days ago. I've experimented with weightless baldar cups to extra-heavy wire baskets, and I have to say, these ones are just heavy enough to counterbalance the sword properly but not so heavy that they make it unwieldy. I had borrowed Logan's sword once while d...

I'm probably the only person on the archive, who considers himself a serious fighter, that doesn't do pell work. I do lots of slow work to establish technique and build muscle memory, but that's not quite the same as beating on an upright stick. The best thing you can be doing now as a new fighter, ...

Trip? I'd say no. Drive it haft-first into his shield and lever him off the side of the bridge? Go for it!

Greetings Archivers! Up for auction is a worn black gambeson from Museum Replicas. It is an excellent arming garment, but with the lovely fighting garb recently sewn for me by even lovelier seamstresses, I just don't find myself wearing this at all. http://mustang-solutions.com/sitebuilder/images/Ga...

Taking on guys with huge shields with your greatsword is tricky but it can be done. You need to develop exceptional lateral footwork and be able to step offline and strike in sync. Also, develop exceptional feints to move that big shield out of the way. Example: dude with war door charges, the gleam...

Although I'm not a wee fellow, being 6'3, I am in comparison to some of the behemoths I run up against. Re: Contact sports vs non
Listening to people complain about competitive or sport mind sets as a bad thing in the SCA really bugs me. I feel we have room for many ways to play. Often it seems those who really do not train complain of others dedication to the art fighting. This is a really good point. I'm one of those allege...
