ive had alot of success bending wood for sleighs and such by using a steam bender. rattan works fairly well by this method. me too, but i dont really know what i would do with one, unless they looked mondo cool. or really period. now that the midrealm is allowing unpadded polearms, rubber heads are a moot point except for appearance.

as long as all the pieces you wanted to cut were straight cuts, it would work. The slitting shears do not cut curves. Only straight lines. however, they do cut straight lines reallllly nice!

anybody know of or remember a rule of thumb for dishing? i think i heard somone mention it a long time ago at an armorers event in cincinnati. aomething like "for every inch of depth, add 1/2 inch of width to the pattern" something like that. Does this ring any bells with anybody?
