what type of saw/blade? is the blade heating up and burning? you might have stainless, hardened steel or some wierd alloy. is the metal vibrating? having your metal against a 1/2 piece of plywood that you cut through helps reduce vibration. are the teeth just breaking off. if the teeth are large you...

vitus you have to rest your hands.
I am having the same problems so shifted to a different type of product.
I am working full time armouring from the moment I get up until I am finshed late at night.
numb hands and dropping stuff is not fun.
best of luck.

foam thickness depends on area padded.

knuckle ridge get 1/2 inch for punching;)
back of hand gets 1/4 to 1/2 depending on fit.

light padding say 1/4 shouldn't affect fit much and will lessen any shock from a hit.
never used an egg mitten so cant tell you much about them. sorry...

synthetic sinew or waxed thread works great. I also contact cement foam to the back of my gauntlets and the cement the glove to the foam. is much more comfortable and solid because the contact cement keeps the gloves from moving around. pics: http://lh5.ggpht.com/_xijnVOFwTh4/S5SHzNN0KiI/AAAAAAAAAlY...

man you guys do things the hard way
get a piece of pipe bury in in the ground or hold in big vise.
bend the rattan all around until you find rattan happiness.
it stays in shape plenty long enough to strapping tape it.
the strapping tape holds the curve/straightness or shape just fine.

you should be able to widen with a dead blow and gentle persuasion.

if you dont drop back on your thighs you can avoid the pouch that some get.

and you can always take the route that few others have. sell them and build yourself a new set ;)

get a 5 gal bucket with a lid and put sand in it.

place iten in bucket close lid and roll until its scratched up enough for your liking. I do like the other threads suggestion of car gunk and a rag though.
