gypsy has a pair if you want pictures. I replaced the thumb plate with an articulating thumb. at some point I might be making titanium gauntlets but I still have not finalized the design. I have the ability and technology but I do not have the processes down to do it simply and easily. making armour...

Can you describe how it's done? Sounds like it wouldn't be very rigid. put on a couple of sweatshirts of a gambeson(for shrinkage) tape the heck out of it. cut off. fill with expanding foam from home depot. alternate method. tape 1/4" polyethelene foam to a tshirt and cut it off. I have used both m...

Absolutely. That is what An Tir Squire tournaments are all about..... Hmmm. That sounds like a great tournament format. Kinda like the William Marshal tournies they sometimes do in Meridies, but simplified. Might have to try that. Gaston your grace.. the squires tourneys are a blast. its hard core ...

a 16 ga helm wouldnt last here in antir. the nonflush brasswork would get torn off when the skull dents in. I was laughing when my squire brother's brand new 12 ga stainless helm had the face plate dented (and one of the thicker than a pencil )stainless bars bent like coat hanger wire. ooks pretty t...

hi there its better to weld in a vented box. something that looks like: you stick your arms through the hole and leather flaps and a big fan draws off the bad fumes and dust. works great for grinders too. lets you work in a clean environment and its ...

I just went to a close fitting close helm but reccomend a two point attatchment system for chinstraps.
being attatched at two points eliminates the rocking that a single strap allows.
essay on it here: http://tiarmour.com/Index%20help.htm

hanging is critical to proper feel. a low weight is negated by a improperly hung shield. the balance point of the shield should feel even when hung properly. it will move easily tip out and back again. some people hang it "too high" and it seems much heavier because the tail(bottom) of the shield ha...

I just made eight .071 shields(the edge needs reinforcing but its the gauge I could get at boeing for cheap)of these for various light weight fighters( including five ladies) around here. its very durable and weighs in around 4 1/2 -5 lbs for a 22" by 32-...

smmothly? it depends onthe process... here are a bunch of legs? m are they smooth? its best to planish the Ti as it helps get rid of twisting and memory. the cuises have about 2-4000 machine strikes apiece to roll them. they are not butt smooth because the strikes work harden the Ti and help keep it...

Just took a closer look at my helm. I do have a pretty good dent on the top. Then again, that's where I usually get hit because I have some sort of mental block with blocking those shots. When I get hit, 98% of the time it's directly on the top of my head. I haven't grasped ducking behind my shield...
