Sounds very cool; pricing? Do you expect to carry them or is this a one-time deal? Regarding the strength of plates -- I fight in 18 ga stainless Birka plates from the 1st order way back when, and they work excellent. The shoulders and waist have been fitted to me by my friends (and their sticks), b...

I can't help but feel that I am at least partially the reason for this thought, Asbjorn (for those who weren't there, in one of my fights I made a rather unfortunate thrust to the side of my opponent's helmet, the force of which, increased by his stepping into the blow, sent the worthy combatant to ...

I got a copy from Mandrake. The artwork is amazing, with every detail of the Green Boot drawn in a loving hand. The text is invaluable, for some illustrations are misleading (particularly the one pertaining to the use of the stick). A complete system, this book can and should serve as the cornerston...

They are already bolstered by the fact that their blows *count*, whereas a one-handed sword does nothing against armour. I'd like to add a rule that weapons should be appropriate to the portrayal -- we didn't have that happen, but we could potentially see a viking with a greatsword.. A question for ...

Didn't get to hang out too long at the gathering -- had other obligations, alas, but the bits of dicussions I overheard when I swung by sounded fascinating. What do they suppose is the origin of the mounts? They look pretty eastern to me, but everything does, lately http://www.armourarchive.org/ubb/smile.gif . I fought in the tournament, and had a blast. The armour was quite impressive on most participants, and the rules were quite challenging (I didn't realize that single-handed sword blows wouldn't count against armour until a few minutes before the tournament started!). There were some awesome fights, ...

Buran, I don't think those are the Vikings in question. And Iceland converted in the fortuitous year of 1000.

Goes well with those plastic basket hilts ..

The basket hilts are very tough, by the way, very protective -- their only drawback is that, well, they are plastic and look and sound horrible.
