Your Highness, Could you explain what exactly (2) means? What we did before was announce before a melee event "all scenarios will be fought with plate being considered proof ". Seems like all this changes for us is we have to say that for every single scenario instead. Is that right? Seems like kind...

Alban is a great guy and makes great jewlery.
He might be at Estrella, I tihnk they usually come (but it does depend a lot on how much money they make, since it costs them a lot to come to the states -- so support them!

So whats next, SCA "Magic" Cards? m m And then, there is "Angels: The Geeking".... that's the game that makes Vitus and wanna-be-sir-vitus-but-taller Sir Bryce go, "Ohboy" (It's a brilliant game, really. Better yet -- don't worry about other people's blow taking. You just have to make peace with the fact that you can't control it, decide that everyone is playing by the rules, assume that if they miss something it's an honest mistake, and go out there guarding your honour more closely than you guard ...

Don't take it too seriously, guys, it's just a bit of fun. We all love this sport, and it's fun to speculate about important tournaments. Builds anticipation. It's like people arguing about the World Series. Anyway, we Westie knights treat gambling as almost a knightly pursuit. <a href="http://galle...

When he starts telling people that he can kick your ass Usually I kick it up a notch (or even a few notches) once or twice during a session, without warning. That way they know what it's like "up there", don't settle into a comfortable rhythm, and stay on their toes. Naturally, I won't do it if I do...

Well, the short answer is, no such thing (at least not what you are thinking). There is a page school activity called boffer fighting, which has been wussyfi.. err.. made as safe as possible. I pasted the rules below. Kingdom of the West Youth Boffer Rules Rules of the List 1. Youth Boffer co...

Well, I was wrong. The top 4 were Sir Brand, Duke Alden, Jarl Thorfinn, and Sir Kjartan from An Tir (how the heck was I supposed to predict *that*? ). In the quarter-finals, Brand defeated Thorfinn, taking him out of the lists, and Kjartan defeated Duke Alden, giving him his first loss. Alden got th...

What is Duke Connor up to these days? I am not sure if Brand is fighting yet, but he is always a contender if he's in the list. Alden is using a larger shield than we are used to seeing, which might give him an advantage -- but then, last month Thorfinn beat him in Crapaud finals with the same set-u...

West Crown
We don't usually know who is entering the lists until 10 am the morning of Crown, but -- anyone want to hazard a guess?
Of the big contenders I know of, Duke Alden and Jarl Thorfinn are planning on fighting. Any other names folks want to throw out there?

Moving or visiting? I am not hitting the Mission practice too often these days (work keeps me in too late most of the time, plus there's a closer Tuesday practice now), but if you let me know when you'll be there, I'll come out. Vebrand, you gotta explain that technique to me.... I have never seen anyone land a killing blow with an unpadded or split rattan glaive using just their wrist. A padded monstrosity, certainly -- but never a split rattan glaive. I would be very interested in learning how that is done. -Dmitriy (Magn...
