What info are you interested in? They have very little english-language presence, so I can't just give you a link... I *do* have a standing invitation from the group that hosts the tournament that I translated the rules for. It's a best of the best type thing in Russia.. one of these days, I will ta...

There is a similar thing to what you are talking about in Russia -- they have lots of competitive steel tournaments, between members from different clubs and regions. Rules vary from tournament to tournament, though not significantly -- the core tends to remain the same, though each tournament has i...

Hi Noe, Trying to look at this objectively -- are you sure that the article was not, in fact, confusing? I work in a lab with 5 Russians, two Indians, a Frenchman, and an Israeli. Since my spoken and written English is the best in the group, I wind up doing a lot of editing, writing, and often trans...

D. Sebastian -- nice work!
Here's mine -- same deal, a tunic under the mail, and lamellar over it:

You can't really see below the waist.. here's another shot, it's not very good, but you get the idea: http://history.westkingdom.org/Year38/Photos/OC79.htm

m Basically, Paul emphasises generating power through the body, and he is exceptionally good at teaching these methods. He's also masterful with a longsword (aka bastard sword), if you are into that sort of thing and he's teaching something on it. If you've fought a Western knight, chances are he wa...

Bjorn -- you are calling people nazis because they say one shouldn't use a kidney belt because of paucity of documentation? Relax a bit, don't let this internet thing get you that upset. It'd be a way more fun argument over a beer at a campfire, yeah? Now, for the Thor thing. Thor has a "girdle of s...

GeneP -- this weekend I had to replace a brass articulation rivet in my stainless gauntlet made by Jeffrey the Younger, so it does happen, even with good armourers. Granted, this is after 2 years, with the gauntlets used whenever I fight with a glaive (my second best form). It was the lead hand, the...

Guys, something is bothering me about the wording -- is this just "notes" or is that how the Marshallate will word it? Specifically -- half-swording is more of a longsword technique than a single-handed sword (longsword being a "bastard sword"). Second, it's not a parry technique, it's for attacking...

By "stealth" thrusting tip, do you mean what is known as a low-profile one? Out here they are only legal on single handed swords; is that not the situation in other kingdoms? We have to use "regular" thrusting tips on polearms and other two handed weapons (fiberglass obviously excepted) That is good...

Gaston, I am so glad you said that! I recently switched to a short sword (messing around with my range sense), and after playing with it for a few months, started beating myself up for drifting from the "true form." (Which to me is Bellatrix, I was his grandsquire). So it *was* the sword making me d...
