pretty standard on both, the shield basket is an ebay buy, the sword basket is used both made with 1/4" rod from the looks. Of the 2 the sword basket is better made, the shield basket has rough welds.

Ahh, good to know, and yes, I'm a measley 54 inch chest without padding I just assumed the XL was like wveryone elses fitting 45 - 52 or so. I will definately be ordering soon then...just gotta find out how to sneak it by the wifey pick her up something shiney and gold, when the mail comes in sprin...

Not to belabor the point, but define fairly large on hat size, I have a 25.25 inch brow-line is that inside the range with accomodations for decent padding?

the roman is 12ga and will fit a 24" head. This helm is solid but not finished that well, it is an amateur construction, just to let you know Is it constructed well enough for use in SCA heavy list? It is very hard for me to find a helm small enough for me without it costing an arm and a leg. ...
