Possibly FS, Guy Laking's 7 centuries of arms and armour
I have a full 6 volume set of the Ken Trotman LTD reprint of Guy Laking's "Record of European Armour and Arms Through Seven Centuries". It is #88 of 125 prints I am debating selling it and wondering if anyone would be interested in it. Pricing would be on par with what the set sold for ori...

2 things, what temper/alloy are you using for the Aluminum, and how well will the average Joe be able to shape the plates if you do them in a spring stainless?

For my good steel gauntlets, I take a good fitting glove and rubber cement neoprene foam pieces on the back. Then I sew them into the gauntlets.

You also need speed for it to work correctly. Using it under another armour will not allow it to work to it's best effectiveness.

Sounds like he doesn't like kites. One, it is too small for him. I like mine eye to knee and shoulder width. My current shields are strapped vertically. Previously, I'd strapped horizontally. I've seen kites the size in that video used successfully center gripped. Check various illuminations and ta...

just to second the earlier thing. when a car is stolen, homeowner or rental insurance can cover all of you possessions that are in the vehicle, and not mounted to it. Re: 20 biggest events in the SCA
Depends on what constitutes a big event? Just population at the event? or fighters? I think the 2 largest tournaments are Ursulmas (174 fighters) and Birka (160's or 170's). Ursulmas is also a demo and gets a big draw in numbers that way. Autumn War here in Antir usually runs over 1k total populatio...

As a decent glaive fighter for a few years, before I gave up and went to coward wall and sword (kidding!), I think that the biggest problems are with the defense. When most of us start fighting, our eyes don't really know how to pick up combat speed. Most martial arts practitioners I have talked to ...

you can try moving your handle out. It may give you less overall control of the shield, but you could get the hand flat that way.

I use nothing but a shaped handle. Most importantly, for me, is that my thumbnail and my pointer finger nail overlap slightly. I also like to have my middle finger nail overlapping with the thumbnail as well, but that is a momentary thing.

for those in higher humidity or colder climates, you can build a hot box (not that kind) with a few sheets of foam sheet insulation, a fan, and some halogen bulbs. You can use a smaller space heater as well, but they can get pretty warm. Parts should run under 30 bucks

I will throw in an opinion here. Antir has traditionally been very open on the rules for glaives. If it's legal somewhere else in the SCA, it's probably legal here as well.
